General policy – automatic collection of information

What information do we collect?
We collect three kinds of information from visitors to our website:
– Individuals or companies contacting us requiring information on various topics
– Site usage information from log files

Why do we collect this data and what do we use your data for?
The information that you provide us with or that is gathered automatically helps us to monitor our service and ensure that our web services are effective and useful. We collect data for correspondence, and marketing purposes.

How long and where do we store your data?
We keep the information on Milton Keynes City Council’s servers. It’s kept for as long as it’s needed, and reviewed on a regular basis for accuracy. Information is kept based on either a legal requirement (where a law says we have to keep information for a specific period of time) or accepted business practice. This is set out in MKDP’s retention schedule.

Who do we share information with and why?
We do not pass on any personal information you have given us to any other site or transfer it outside the EU. We may pass it on to strictly controlled third parties so that they may provide you with marketing information about MKDP.What rights you have?You have various rights around the data we hold about you. Cookies
